Remington’s new 1911 is the talk of the town, and after 91 years since the last 1911 was built by Big Green, it was definitely worth the wait. Remington stayed true to the classic 1911, but threw in a few modern upgrades like a flared and lowered ejection port and three-dot combat sights. The gun has the Remington logo on the left slide and on the right it reads, “1911-R1.” The green case it comes in makes it impossible to mistake who’s making this gun.
The R-1 looks impressive. The attractive blued finish looks fantastic when paired with the checkered walnut grips, giving it the classic 1911 look that we all know and love. The gun points like it’s a natural extension to your arm and the three-dot combats sights make finding your target a snap. The trigger breaks right around 5 pounds, which is one thing the classic 1911’s didn’t have going for them.
